Problem
You don't want to manually create ten application pods and replace each one when it crashes.
You want to say:
Keep ten copies of version 42 running.
Solution — Deployment
A Deployment describes the desired application state.
Image: api:v42
Replicas: 10
Kubernetes controllers work to maintain it and manage updates.
Core idea: Deployments manage replicated, updateable application workloads.
